Wolff : We’ll find out quickly if we’ve solved the chassis problems

Mercedes boss Toto Wolff says that they will find out very soon if they have finally found out if they have solved their problems that have been bothering them.

The Brackley-based team did their best to fix the issues, implementing some radical improvements in line with lessons learned from last season, where Wolff, Russell and the W14 called Hamilton a “difficult car” to drive.

Entering the upcoming season, the Silver Arrows presented a new car with which they hope to return to the fight for victories and titles after preparing many novelties on the W15 car.

The boss of Mercedes is impatient for them to go out on the track to make sure that they have solved the problems that plagued them last year, because of which they could not get the right performances.

“I’m excited to be racing again. I’m curious and excited to see how the car performs,” Wolff said when asked about his general thoughts for 2024.

“I think we’ll get an early indication of whether we’ve solved some of the inherent problems we had on the chassis side last year. We have a mountain to climb to get to the front of the grid, but we are focused on that,” he explained.

The Austrian mentioned that it has been a difficult journey for the team since 2023, as they have struggled to uncover W14’s sticking points during the season and take big steps to improve W15.

“It won’t be a linear path, but when we stumble, we will get up and keep climbing,” he added.

Mercedes had two difficult seasons in a row. Acknowledging the fact that the team has created a record of back-to-back championships in the past, he also mentioned that when the time comes, one bad game or season can throw all previous titles out the window. According to the Silver Arrows boss, they once again had to adapt, recalibrate and re-create the car in certain areas for 2024.
