Mercedes director Toto Wolff did not rule out the possibility of a meeting with three-time Formula 1 world champion Max Verstappen from Red Bull about his engagement and arrival at the German team.
Mercedes is looking for a driver to replace seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton, who is leaving the team at the end of the season and moving to Ferrari.
Wolff has been talking about Verstappen since the beginning of the year, who has a contract with Red Bull until the end of 2028 and who has said that he does not want to leave the team at the moment.
After the race in Miami, Wolff denied that a meeting with Verstappen’s representatives was planned for Monday, but he did not rule out the possibility that he would speak with them this month.
“There are always a lot of meetings. I can’t really talk about the other driver (at Mercedes). We talked about the possibilities. I want to be fair to these guys and not make it look like we’re playing chess with these people, because we don’t .
