Mercedes with Hamilton in the cockpit ‘teases’ the appearance of the W15

Mercedes has teased Formula 1 fans by giving them a first look at its W15 car for the 2024 season.

The blurred image shows Lewis Hamilton sitting in the cockpit of the car as the team continues to prepare for the new season.

The Brackley-based team go into the upcoming campaign after finishing runners-up in last year’s Constructors’ Championship.

While the result marked an improvement on their position in 2022, Mercedes had their first winless season since 2011, as neither Lewis Hamilton nor George Russell managed to reach the top step of the podium.

Mercedes are hoping to close the gap on Red Bull this year, but face a huge task after the Austrian team recorded 21 of the 22 available victories. One race was stolen from them by Ferrari.

Ahead of the 2024 season, team boss Toto Wolff and technical director James Allison have signed multi-year contract extensions as they look to lead the team’s recovery and push towards the top.

Allison has already made several statements that there is always room to find enough additional performances to improve, so they have high expectations for this season.

A little earlier, Wolff pointed out that not a single screw will remain on their new car, it will not be transferred from last year’s car to this car because it gave them big headaches.

“Nothing to see here,” they joked in a post posted by Mercedes
