Toto Expecting ‘Tight Battle in Exceptional Atmosphere’ at British GP

It is the final weekend of F1’s summer triple-header, the British Grand Prix.

With Euro 2024 in full swing, you could say that F1 is coming home to Silverstone – the site of the first ever championship race in 1950 – this weekend.

The Team came home from Austria last week with a P1 trophy for the first time in more than 18 months, with Toto keen to emphasise the role everyone has played in making that possible.

Toto said: “There is great energy and momentum within the Team. Last weekend’s result only adds to that.

“Our incremental gains have brought us closer to the front and turned us into regular podium contenders.

“That is due to the hard work of everyone at Brackley and Brixworth over recent months.”

George’s victory in Spielberg – his second win in F1 on Sunday was not achieved on pure pace alone, but did signal the progress made with W15 over recent weeks.

Toto said: “We capitalised on the opportunities that presented themselves to claim victory.

“We were running an honest third on track, not too far behind the leading duo.

“When they tangled, we were there to take advantage. As a result, we head to Silverstone encouraged by our weekend in Austria.”

Victory last weekend will only serve to push our team on even further. There is still a gap at the front to be closed.

Toto said: “Everyone is focused on maintaining that positive trajectory and getting ourselves into the fight for victories on a regular basis.

“We are optimistic we can achieve this.”

Silverstone is always a special one for our team, and we have been fortunate enough to celebrate a lot of success at the track since 2010.

Toto said: “Being so close to our technical centres in Brackley and Brixworth, Silverstone is somewhat of a home race for our team.

“It is always fantastic to see our factory-based team members in the Grandstands.

“The British fans will also be out in force cheering on the team, both Lewis and George. The atmosphere each and every year is exceptional.”

From the grandstands to the tarmac, Toto is expecting another close race between the leading teams.

“The battle at the front is tight and we will have to be at our best to challenge for the podium again.

“That is our aim, though, and we are excited for that challenge.”
