It will be great to work with Hamilton to bring Ferrari back to the top – Leclerc

Charles Leclerc welcomed Lewis Hamilton to Ferrari. In just over six months, the partnership between the seven-time world champion and the Italian team will be a reality, and his future team-mate says he has a great opportunity to learn from the greatest of all time.

Leclerc, whose contract was extended until 2029 at the beginning of the year, will have a new teammate in Ferrari next season. The Monegasque is preparing for one of his biggest challenges, the confrontation with Hamilton. It’s a great opportunity for him to show what he’s capable of, but also what he’ll learn from the seven-time world champion as they work together to get the team from Maranello back on the top step of the podium.

“Lewis is the most successful driver in the history of Formula 1 and for me driving the same car as Lewis is, firstly, a great opportunity to learn from the best of all time, as well as a great motivation to show what I am capable of. I’m looking forward to this new challenge and we also have a great relationship between us,” said Leclerc in an interview with Sky F1.

“I have a lot of respect for Lewis and everything he has achieved. It will certainly be a great moment in my career to face him and at the same time work together to bring Ferrari back to the top. It will be amazing to see where I compare to Lewis,” he added.

Outside of Formula 1, Leclerc let it be known that he has a few things in common with the Briton, such as music and fashion. Since the Montenegrin arrived on the grid of the premier class of motorsport, the two have had a very fluid relationship and hope that this will continue next season, when they will be teammates.

“We all have our peculiarities, our strengths and weaknesses. Obviously, in Lewis’s case, I’m sure he has very few weaknesses, but I can learn from his strength and it will be very interesting,” he believes.

“We can’t talk much about the car yet, but in order to prepare for next year, we are combining our passions for design and fashion,” concluded Charles Leclerc.
