On the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the sporty Golf GTI, Volkswagen is preparing a special edition to mark the appearance of the original Golf I GTI on the European market in 1976.
Golf GTI 45 edition got a front end as well as Golf GTI Clubsport (with a more striking spoiler), and there are black alloy wheels with a red edge, larger sills, side decoration with the number “45”, trimmed rear bumper, black rear roof spoiler dark exhaust pipes …
Also, changes in the suspension and braking system are expected.
According to the announcements, sports seats with the “45” logo are planned for the interior, among other things.
It remains to be seen whether the Golf GTI 45 edition will have the standard 245hp and 370Nm or the 300hp and 400Nm that the Golf GTI Clubsport has.
So, additional details are yet to come.
