The rumors that Ford will expand its pickup offer in the United States by manufacturing a Focus-based compact truck, has been present for some time, and designer Kleber Silva has created a rendering engine that shows how it might look.
The focus is shown in Focus in two forms, one for the front part of the Focus Active with rounded fog lamps placed in the corners. The second version has fog lamps with sharp corners, the lower part of the front mask in the body color and chrome details. Both versions have higher clearance, as well as roof racks.
Silva kept the four doors, but he “rolled out” a part of the roof to create a cargo space at the back that was not particularly large, but would have been enough for several bags and the like.
The rumors indicate that Focus-based pickup will arrive in 2022 and will find its place under a new Ranger, medium-sized trucks. Ford could revive the name Ranchero, which was used in the past for a pickup based on Falcon.
The new pickup would have rolled out a 1.5-liter turbocharged turbocharger, which would be available in 148 and 180 hp versions. Buyers could choose between six-speed manual and eight-speed automatic transmission. Whether the four-wheel drive would also be available, is not known at this time.
