Subaru WRX STI gets more power for 2019

Subaru recently announced a new generation of WRX models, introducing the concept of the Viziv but did not forget about the current generation of this model.

If it is to believe the document that appeared on the Internet, the Subaru WRX STI will get an upgraded boxer unit of 2.5 liters with a turbocharger, which will develop 310 horsepower for 2019. This is a modest improvement of 5 horsepower compared to the current model, and is matched with the output power of the limited series of this model bearing the WRX STI Type A

America’s communications manager Dominik Infante said it was still too early to confirm anything, but that a modest increase in power is something that works realistically.

It is not yet known whether this model will go through some other changes, but the model for this year has got a restylated front with restylated LED headlights and a larger mask (grille) of the cooler. It also got new 19-inch wheels, so there may be no need for some serious changes.

Changes to the interior are also minimal, but they include better materials and redesigned door handles. When it comes to technology, this car got a larger infotainment screen of 7 inches and a multifunctional 5.9-inch screen.

The engineers worked to get STIs getting better performance, and they changed the suspension and the drive on all wheels. This model is now equipped with a larger Brembo braking system.

There is also information that the standard Subaru WRX will have the same four-cylinder boxer aggregate of a working capacity of two liters that develops 268 horsepower and 349 Nm of torque.
