Subaru will introduces Forester STI and Impreza STI concepts
High performance crossovers were oxymoron until they broke through premium brands BMW, Mercedes and Audi. The latest in a row is the Subaru Forester STI concept.
The Forester STI will debut on January 11 in Tokyo, and it stands out for Fighter Gray, a unique 19-inch alloy wheel and a high-performance Brembo braking system.
The concept also has a redesigned front mask with the STI mark, and an aggressive front bumper.
Subaru hides performance details, but announces an additional pre-loaded e-Boxer drive.
The standard e-Boxer has a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that develops 145 hp and 188 Nm with the support of an electric motor, so much more STI version numbers are expected.
In addition to the Forestier STI, Subaru will also show the Impreza STI concept, a hatchback that is little known.
