Development of the best performing Honda Civic Type R ever continues. The all-new Civic Type R will be introduced in 2022. #HondaCivic #TypeR
Although Honda has yet to introduce the new Civica Si, it seems that the Japanese brand wants to present the new Type R, ahead of the launch scheduled for 2022.
Of course, this “hot hatch” will be found in the most natural possible testing environment, which is the Nurburgring, but before that he “posed” in front of the camera, albeit under camouflage.
What we can detect are the red Brembo brake calipers and Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires. Also, the new Type R seems to have far fewer false holes and plastic elements, which we certainly welcome. The central end of the exhaust pipes is now larger than the outer one, while in the current version it is smaller and serves as a resonator. The position of the rear wing is also noticeable, which now lies in a slightly higher position on the rear door and has a flatter shape.
Similar to the ordinary Civic, the “sharpened” model is characterized by a much “cleaner” design, which the audience will surely accept positively. The front looks more aggressive with a larger bottom grille and side vents, which we hope are “real”. The upper mask looks “tighter”, while the honeycomb-shaped scheme is different from the standard Civic hatchback.
As expected, Honda is missing for now in terms of technical specifications, but what we do know is that the newcomer (as well as the Si) arrives exclusively with a manual transmission. Rumors to be understood with caution suggest that it is a hybrid four-wheel drive with some 400 hp, while according to information that seems more realistic, yet the evolution of the current recipe with front-wheel drive, with of course a little more power.
The Honda Civic Type R will be the last model of the Japanese brand in Europe to be offered exclusively with a petrol engine. In the meantime, Si will soon appear on the American scene.
