It has been almost 18 months since the presentation of the prototype redesign of the Honda Civic Type R directed by specialist Mugen at the Tokyo Motor Show in January last year, which has now experienced its first screening.
The final remake looks quite similar to the prototype and adds a new and more aggressive visual identity to the Japanese “hatch”.
The wheelbase modification includes a new front “splitter” and bumper, a new carbon fiber bonnet filled with cooling vents that costs $ 10,200.

At the rear, unique rear lights with recognizable graphics, a new diffuser and a new dual exhaust system stand out, unlike the triple-tube layout as with the standard Type-R model.
The most obvious modification at the rear though is the installation of a rear “wing” that can be adjusted manually. The wing costs $ 9,300 if it is made of fiberglass, or $ 13,300 if it is made of carbon fiber.

There are also 20-inch 20-inch wheels in black or silver, “pulled out” sills and new mirror housings while the change is also in the cabin, and include a steering wheel in a combination of carbon fiber and leather, Recaro seats in Alcantara with striped pattern, aluminum gear lever , new floor mats and a Mugen button to start the 310 hp turbo two-liter.
Mugen also offers a new oil filter, and all fluids and brake pads. In total, the Mugen managed to draw attention to its redesign of the hot compact Honda, which is certainly not an ideal car for withdrawn types …
