At the race in Silverstone, the German team managed to reduce the gap behind the leaders.
Thanks to a major upgrade package installed on the W13 at the British GP, both cars showed better pace which allowed Lewis Hamilton to challenge for victory. However, the team from Berkeley is not sure how the car will behave on the track in Austria, because the characteristics of the Silverstone track suited them just fine.

According to Auto Motor und Sport journalist Michael Schmidt, Mercedes is preparing more new parts for the summer break.
“Mercedes are not sure how the new parts will behave at the Red Bull Ring. It will be a good track to judge how good the new package really is. The team (Mercedes) told me that they will make small improvements at each race and they will be tied to the floor. Mercedes will bring improvements all the way to Hungary. If everything goes well, they believe that they will be able to win races in the second part of the season.” this German journalist wrote.
According to him, the German team will bring a smaller amount of parts to Austria, while a larger package is expected in France and Hungary.
