This talented Frenchman seems to be on Mercedes’ radar.
Red Bull has decided to keep the same lineup next year as Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez, so it has long been clear that Pierre Gasly will have to stay on the AlphaTauri team. The Frenchman had a chance to prove himself in the team from Milton Keynes, but he was returned to Toro Rosso after the first part of the 2020 season, so he recently stated that he still does not know what Red Bull is planning with him in the future.
According to some unconfirmed information circulating in the fall, Mercedes has turned a blind eye to this Frenchman whose contract with the team expires in 2023. The reason for such a thing could be hidden in the possible retirement of Lewis Hamilton, as well as the fact that the German team is not yet sure whether George Russell will meet their expectations. On the other hand, it is no secret that Gasly may not stay in Alpha Tauri after 2023, so it is expected that he may look for a new environment after his contract with Red Bull expires.
