Ford Raptor will get V8 Mustang Shelby GT500 Engine

US media, referring to unnamed sources, write that Ford could offer the pick-up model F-150 Raptor and in a special version with a 5.2 liter V8 engine with a compressor powered by the new Shelby Mustang GT500.

If this really happens, such a F-150 Raptor, with the aforementioned V8 engine (the Shelby Mustang GT500 has more than 700 horses), is also likely to receive a 10-speed automatic transmission.

With this, Ford would offer a rival to the future Ram Rebel TRX, which is assumed to have a 6.2 liter V8 engine with a compressor and 707 hp.

The F-150 Raptor with the V8 engine should originate from some sources at the end of 2020, but only one or two model years will be produced, since the new generation of the F-150 comes in 2021 or 2022.

The price will of course be higher than the regular Ford F-150 Raptor and could cost more than 70,000 US dollars.
