Ford is returning to Formula 1?

The American company Ford could soon return to Formula 1.

Red Bull could compete with Ford’s power unit from 2026, reports Autosport.

Ford once had “Cosworth” engines, which are considered to be one of the most successful in the history of the competition, and were last used in F1 in 2004. Then Ford supplied the Jaguar team with its engines, more precisely in the period from 2000 to 2004, but they never reached the set goals.

They can boast of 10 Constructors’ and 13 Drivers’ Championship titles won with a Ford Cosworth engine, by the likes of Jackie Stewart, Emerson Fittipaldi, Jochen Rindt, James Hunt, Mario Andretti, Nelson Piquet, Keke Rosberg…

Ford is interested in returning to the Formula 1 championship at the “big door”, and that door should be opened for them by Red Bull, whose contract with Honda expires in 2025, before the rulebook is changed.
