It’s time for a hot hatch vs performance SUV drag race!
Now you might be looking at this line-up and thinking it’s a pointless race. However, once we delve a bit deeper at the specs, you’ll see this race might be a bit closer than you thought!
Starting off with the Golf R, it’s powered by a 2-litre 4 cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that can deliver 320hp & 420Nm of torque. It’s relatively light, too, weighing in at 1,550kg.
Then we have the Audi, which has double the number of cylinders under the bonnet, where it houses a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 that puts down 507hp and 770Nm of torque. It’s also oh-so-much heavier than the Golf, tipping the scales at 2,250kg!
