Fiat Chrysler Automobiles plans to expand the Alfa Romeo range with more new models, among them a new SUV, smaller than the current Stelvio.
We will see this car in the concept version at the Geneva Fair, and this is called the Tonale concept (it was named after the first mountain in the north of Italy).
This is the SUV that Alfa Romeo will, among other things, compete with smaller SUV vehicles from Audi, BMW, and Mercedes, which is one of the models that the Italians will try to achieve by the year 2022 at the target of 400,000 Alfa annuals.

Since the Alfa SUV should be based on the platform used by Fiat 500X and Jeep Rengade. That would then tell a similar range of gasoline and diesel engines as well as the choice between the front and four-wheel versions.
The plug-in hybrid version is also mentioned, while production will take place in the Pomigliano factory in Italy.
